Future Library: 3

I will most definitely have the Chronicles of Narnia series by C. S. Lewis in my future library.  They are excellent, especially the second (The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe) which everyone thinks is the first, but it's not.  And then I love the last one (The Last Battle).  The others are entertaining, but these two have so much symbolism about life.  What makes it better is that the books are fairly simple and not difficult to understand.

L.A.W.

Take a look at this bad boy:

What you're currently viewing is the text for my, you guessed it, Business Law class this coming Fall semester. (Wow BYU, don't get too creative) That's Acc 241, for anyone who cares. And I guess technically it's called Business Law in the Environment. But seriously, "in the Environment" as opposed to "out of the Environment" or "not in the Environment"...? Unnecessary.

Professor Ryan Wood has been so welcoming:

Enjoy your lives now...my class is torture.

Uh...Thanks?

At three inches thick, this classic textbook smashes the record for "Caitlin's Biggest Textbook Yet." But don't worry, we're only using 24 of the 51 chapters. Thanks again, Pro. Wood.

And Mom actually said this was her favorite class. I already told her she's crazy.

My Future Library: 2

Crime and Punishment

By Fyodor Dostoyevsky

The author is Russian, in case you were wondering.

Crime and Punishment is all about moral dilemmas, choosing between right and wrong in desperate situations. I loved the themes: agency, consequence, sin, redemption, penance, and especially hope.

Although it was confusing at times (and mostly because I didn't understand Russian culture I think), I would most definitely recommend this book.

My Future Library: 1

I love to read, and someday I hope to have a sweet library full of my favorite books. So, I'm going to start a list of all those books that I want to eventually collect. And I'll start with my most favorite novel of all time: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas!

This book is incredible! If you haven't read it, you definitely should.

It is about Edmond Dantes who is falsely accused and is sentenced to life in prison. There he meets Abbe Faria and together they plan to escape. Unfortunately, Abbe Faria dies in prison, but not before revealing to Dantes the location of his great fortune. Edmond escapes, finds the treasure, and returns to society under the name the Count of Monte Cristo. He searches out his betrayers and plots his revenge in a carefully planned scheme. This is where the book rocks!

Betrayal, vengeance, love, envy, justice, mercy, happiness, and misery, all combined in one thrilling read!

So read it if you haven't yet! To read more about the book, click here.

Wild Things

Remember this book?

Well they're making a movie about it and I'm actually pretty excited about. I know, I know, it's a kids book so it'll probably be a kids movie. But I loved the preview! And I think it could have some good themes....right?

Check it out here.

Harry Craze!

Go ahead, call me a nerd. But I will still love Harry Potter.

I remember when my 5th grade teacher, Ms. Bowen, introduced me to Harry Potter and I've been hooked ever since.

And now the movie for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is coming out this month and suddenly my nerdiness is revived. (Find the preview here.) I'm planning on reading the 6th and 7th books again while I am at Lake Powell this week.

Speaking of Lake Powell, I can't wait to water ski!
