A Most Classic Movie

This is seriously one of the greatest movies of all time. I had forgotten how much I loved it until today, when we watched it. It's my dad's favorite movie. And since he can't move off the couch for a while (because he broke his femur! see this post), we all decided to watch it with him.

And what a great movie! Some personal favorites:
  • ROUSes - Rodents Of Unusual Size
  • "Hallo. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."
  • The Cliffs of Insanity!
  • Miracle Max
  • "Have fun stormin the castle! Think it'll work? It'd take a miracle."
  • Fezzik the giant
  • The Pit of Despair
  • True Love
  • "Inconceivable!" -Vezzini
I think I could even watch it again right now.

Somebody ate my Taquitos!

About a month ago, I bought a box of 20 Jose Ole Chicken Taquitos for those days I didn't feel like cooking (aka most days). Then when I went to go open the box this week and eat some, IT WAS ALREADY OPENED AND SOMEONE HAD EATEN SOME!

Lame.

So I had a few and then put them back in the freezer. Dumbest move yet. Of course the culprit would strike again--why didn't I think of that?

And so today I looked in the box and there were only 2 left! That's right, I ate 6 of the 20. Not even half! Don't worry, I didn't make the same mistake twice and quickly scarfed them down.

Come on people, eat your own food! Somebody owes me 14 taquitos.

Button Jar

Someday I want to have a big jar of buttons. Why, you ask? Mostly because Mom has one. And when I was small I loved to look at all the different buttons... different sizes, shapes, colors. And now that I am big I still like it. What could be more fun?

It is also very handy to have a large assortment of buttons. Then when the tiny pearl button falls off of the daughter's sparkly dress, oh look! There's one in the Button Jar that will be perfect there.

So I'm collecting buttons now. My jar is only one inch full of buttons, but it's a start.

Random Gladness

This post is going to be about things that I am grateful for - those random things that you never think about but are SO nice to have!

So here it is! A list of some random objects that make me happy:

Chapstick
This stuff saves me at work! My lips can get so dry and I am constantly putting on chapstick. I like to have some in every purse and then some around the house too.

Milk

And not just any milk...SKIM MILK! I adore skim milk and I think any other kind of milk (i.e. whole, 2%, even 1%) is disgusting. Yes, I can tell the difference. Every meal should be finished with a nice glass of cold milk. The colder the better. Sometimes I even put ice cubes in my milk to make it colder. Call me crazy, but I love it. Speaking of milk, this stuff goes great in it...

Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds

If there's one thing I could live off of forever, it would be Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds. There's probably been at least a few days where that's all I've eaten--breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. It's just so delicious! Probably not terribly nutritious, but I still love it.

Calendars

I'm probably a bit of an organization freak. And a calendar is a must have for me. I write down birthdays, tests, school assignments, work schedules, other important dates, appointments and many other things on my calendar. So thank you to whoever invented the idea of listing the days of the year! I would be lost without you.

My Fuzzy Flip Flops!
I wear these everywhere and have decided that everyone needs a pair of fuzzy flip flops. They are so comfy! Thanks to Mallory and Kate for this wonderful birthday gift. They have been used well.

This concludes my list of things that make me happy. I will probably continue to add to it, because one can never be too grateful!

I Mean Business

It's official..........

I got into the Business Management program at BYU!!

And now I've got 2 more years of hardcore business classes and hardly any room for elective classes anymore--kinda a bummer. But I'm very excited! I have loved my beginning business classes so far. Maybe not Accounting 210, aka "The Beast," but the rest have been awesome.

There's seven emphases in the management major; I'm going to do Finance (yes, following in my mother's footsteps).

Then there are 8 sub-emphases in the finance emphasis:
  • Asset Management
  • Investment Banking
  • Personal Financial Planning
  • Real Estate
  • Corporate Finance
  • Entrepreneurial Finance (hate that word by the way, so hard to pronounce!)
  • International Finance
  • General Finance
No idea which one to pick. Any thoughts?

Here's a link to a description of the finance major and what each sub-emphasis is, in case you are wondering.

My Future Library: 2

Crime and Punishment

By Fyodor Dostoyevsky

The author is Russian, in case you were wondering.

Crime and Punishment is all about moral dilemmas, choosing between right and wrong in desperate situations. I loved the themes: agency, consequence, sin, redemption, penance, and especially hope.

Although it was confusing at times (and mostly because I didn't understand Russian culture I think), I would most definitely recommend this book.

Drama Yo Mamma

I thought drama was one of those things you left behind
once you graduated high school.

But apparently, it doesn't end there. In fact, now I think there will always be some drama everywhere, no matter what stage of life. And you know what, it's crappy. Who ever made up the phrase "drama" to describe those messy, sticky, social situations?

Well I hate it. And I want nothing to do with it anymore. Be gone!

I wish it was like that.
